Coordinator, Learning & Talent

Position Overview

The Coordinator, Learning and Talent is a key member of the Human Resources Organizational Development team, responsible for supporting and enhancing the City of Burlington’s learning and talent initiatives. This role plays a pivotal part in managing and optimizing the Workday Learning and Talent modules, ensuring effective utilization to drive employee development, engagement, and organizational success.

This position will assist in the administration of learning programs across the organization, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and growth. They will collaborate with stakeholders across departments to support learning and talent strategies, manage learning content, and ensure a seamless experience for users.

Responsibilities

The Learning & Training Coordinator is responsible to:
• Coordinate the training for the centralized Workday modules (i.e: onboarding, system releases, etc.)
• Lead initiatives to support the successful adoption of Workday Talent and Learning modules across the City.
• Ensure Workday application support tools and other system support procedures are maintained.
• Research, troubleshoot and resolve day to day Workday Talent/ Learning issues.
• Create, maintains, and implement Talent and Learning applications reporting and analytics.
• Manage and regularly maintain the training resources related to Workday, including the development of job aids and other system related training material.
• Monitor learning and talent data integrity and accuracy and coordinate with the Organizational Development section for the necessary corrective actions.
• Generate reports and follow metrics to track participation and engagement with various programs.
• Develop and implement new eLearning courses and update existing eLearning courses (i.e. authoring e-learning via Articulate Storyline).
• Work with business leads on course creation and course changes while validating all required information has been provided.
• Support the Performance Management cycle in Workday as required.
• Create modern, engaging, and interactive training content that aligns with the City of Burlington’s goals using adult learning principles. (e-learning modules, microlearning, training, written guides, and other resources aimed to enhance knowledge, skills, and competencies).
• Assist in the development and maintenance of learning assignments to the organization using Workday. Engage with training owners throughout the organization to ensure alignment and adherence to processes and requirements.
• Support, maintain and update the corporate learning matrix.
• Support the learning and talent team with training related logistics.

Requirements

Completion of a 4-year degree in a specialized Learning & Development field; More than 2 years up to 4 years related experience; Strong communication skills, both written & verbal; Experience working with Workday Learning and Talent modules is preferred (experience with Workday reporting is an asset but not required). Strong organizational and time management skills are a must. The ideal candidate is tech-savvy, detail-oriented, and passionate about leveraging technology to enhance learning and talent development.
