Duties:
Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Organizational Development Coordinator supports Corporate Organizational Development and Learning initiatives. Responsibilities include conducting needs assessments, developing leadership programs, managing change initiatives, designing training, and enhancing performance management and employee engagement programs. The OD Coordinator promotes a learning culture and training opportunities to build organizational capacity. Guided by the City of Stratford’s Core Values and Corporate Strategic Plan, this position helps achieve corporate goals and objectives.
Work Performed:
Organizational Development and Employee Experience
- Provides analysis, interpretation, observations, recommendations based on employee surveys, reports, exit surveys, feedback, training evaluations and other organizational assessments. Research best practices to develop and implement expanded programs and strategies.
- Supports program design and delivers on implementation action plans to enhance the employee experience and overall organizational effectiveness. Topics include leadership development, culture and organizational effectiveness, performance management, recognition, competencies, orientation, people plan, workforce and talent development, and a continuous improvement program.
- Writes communications to market and promote learning content and further develop the learning and development culture within the organization.
- Regularly reviews, coordinates, and facilitates the corporate orientation program, with a focus on fostering an environment of employee belonging and engagement.
- Consults with business areas to develop and implement Change Management Plans that impact the employee experience.
Training
- Uses the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) and strategic learning design methodologies and works with internal stakeholders as a training design consultant to effectively design and develop learning content.
- Delivers corporate training, as required.
- Uses the Learning Management System (LMS) to upload and maintain courses, assignment profiles, and curricula; runs and analyzes learning reports, and assists Learning Management System training administrators.
Wellness, Health, and Safety Training
- Co-ordinates the corporate wellness, health, and safety training program for all levels of staff, including coordinating with outside training vendors as required, and manages all training logistics.
- Consults with supervisors and the Wellness, Health, and Safety Team to develop and update health and safety training curricula.
Qualifications:
- University degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Public/ Business Administration, or related discipline.
- 2-3 years of related professional experience
- Demonstrated consulting, communication, interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills gained through several years’ experience in human resources.
- Superior research and project management skills with a sound practical knowledge of organization development principles.
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation in the areas of Employment standards, Human rights, Workplace Violence /Harassment.
- Working knowledge of adult learning principles, and employee engagement/recognition.
- Excellent computer skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, Online research
Specialized Skills, Abilities, Training, License, Memberships, or Certifications
- Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).
- Valid Class G driver’s license with access to a vehicle.
- Certified Change Management Practitioner is an asset.
- Certified in Lean or Lean Six Sigma is an asset.
- Certification in Organizational Development or the ability to obtain.
