Reporting to the City Manager, the Director, Human Resources is the senior HR professional in the corporation. The Director, Human Resources will lead the development and implementation of innovative human resource strategies to attract and engage the best talent and competitively position the corporation to support and enable the City’s Strategic Plan and provision of services. A transformational leader with demonstrated experience guiding and successfully supporting organizational change efforts, you are experienced in strategic thinking and development, along with long-term strategy execution. Your track record of operational excellence and customer service is clear, and you demonstrate creativity and vision in developing strategies and policies that support an evolving organization.

The successful candidate will have a University Degree in a related discipline with at least 10 years of progressively senior human resources experience in a complex unionized organization. A Canadian Human Resources Leader Designation is also preferred. In addition to relevant professional experience, the ideal candidate will have demonstrated talent for building relationships, fostering collaboration, leading transformational change, and exploring innovative approaches to modernizing human resources functions that support organizations through change.
