Workforce Advisor/Health and Safety Specialist

Lakeshore is a beautiful Municipality situated in southern Ontario along Lake St. Clair. Reporting to the Division Leader – Workforce Development, the Workforce Advisor/Health and Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring corporate compliance with all regulatory aspects of the Employment Standards Act, Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, corporate policies and procedures, and other industry standards. The Workforce Advisor will also provide assistance in the administration and maintenance of employee files, benefit and pension administration, recruitment activities, employee relations, health and safety program administration and other workforce development matters. 

This position will have a focus on health and safety and labour relations.

Some Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills required include:

  • Degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, Labour Relations or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
  • CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation or willingness and ability to continue education and training courses as may be necessary to the position
  • CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) an asset
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and talent management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between a variety of duties
  • Preference will be given to candidates with strong experience in health and safety and labour relations
