The VP, People, Culture, and Organizational Development and CHRO plays a key role in PRHC's management, sharing accountability for strategic and operational plans as part of the Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the President and CEO, they will serve as a key HR resource for the organization, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while providing leadership to various functional areas and overseeing a team of direct and indirect reports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modernize PRHC's HR processes and services through strategic development, review, and reorganization of workflow and resources to meet the organization's changing needs while aligning the HR function's structure and role accountabilities.
  • Oversee HRIS and scheduling software, manage HRIS adoption training and communications, and ensure a seamless transition from paper-based to electronic documentation.
  • Oversee the recruitment process end-to-end, from defining job requirements to presenting job offers, while also managing onboarding programs to facilitate a seamless transition for new employees.
  • Lead the workforce planning program, ensuring fair and compliant scheduling and staffing practices, and oversee the generation of accurate staffing data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure performance management processes align with PRHC's strategies and goals, provide guidance on performance issues, disputes, and disciplinary situations, and act as a facilitator in conflict management and resolution.
  • Oversee Total Rewards programs, ensuring competitive market data and timely salary reviews, manage data administration between HR and payroll in compliance with relevant legislation, provide oversight for pension and benefits programs, analyze financial impacts, lead annual contract renewal negotiations, and ensure robust communication and timely responses to employee questions.
  • Develop and implement employee training and leadership programs to enhance the skills of PRHC management and staff, conduct research for specific training requirements and career goals, and promote continuous learning and personal development for the HR team through professional associations, networking, seminars, and workshops.
  • Oversee all employee health, safety, and wellness programs, ensure compliance with regulations, and manage employee attendance and disability programs.
  • Lead by example, mentor direct reports, set performance and strategic goals, support HR teams in navigating change, and promote continuous personal development for themselves and the team.
  • Manage hospital volunteer recruitment, training, and performance.

What You Bring

  • Post-secondary education (MBA preferred) with a CHRL designation required.
  • 10+ years of relevant, progressive work experience with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of all or most of the functional elements of the role.
  • Experience working in healthcare or similar highly-unionized environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change within a complex organization.
  • Knowledge of government acts, regulations, and policies as they apply to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety, and other relevant legislation.
  • Proficiency in assessment, acquisition, and implementation of HRIS software.
  • Knowledge of policy development, records management principles and practices, including records preservation and retention.
