Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Position Summary
The Manager, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will provide the organization with leadership and expertise on issues of equity, diversity, anti-racism, anti-oppression, inclusion and belonging, both for staff as well as in the delivery of services to the Richmond Hill community.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide subject matter expertise and strategic advice to City leadership on matters relating diversity, equity and inclusion
• Lead the ongoing development/implementation of the City's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy
• Lead the development of inclusive practices in the organization
• Develop and deliver external initiatives to further the City's DEI efforts
• Develop, implement and maintain a model to measure DEI
Education and Experience
• Degree in Public Administration, Public Policy, Human Resources, Business, Social Work or similar
• Change Management Certification considered an asset
• Lean Certification considered an asset
• 7-10 years of experience
Required Skills/Knowledge
• Lived experience as a member of an equity-deserving community is an asset.
• Knowledge and experience in municipal government operations, organizational behaviour, change management,
• Skills and experience in influencing without authority, political acuity, negotiating, facilitation, relationship building, conflict resolution, advanced writing, advanced research and analysis, presentations, public engagement and participation skills, communication skills, leadership, mentoring, coaching.
