Position Overview:
As an OD practitioner, how often do you have the opportunity to build a performance management program from the ground up, strategically impacting an entire organization?
This is truly a unique opportunity. Initially, this position will be the business lead to design, develop and implement a performance management program for the City of Burlington. Your expertise and understanding of performance management systems, including supporting business processes, metrics, training, and future integrations with other programs such as succession management, leadership development and performance-based compensation will be supported by a project team.
Responsibilities:
Working with the project team you will:
• Design the project plan, scope, and deliverables.
• Work collaboratively across the organization to identify needs, gaps and success metrics.
• Build a customized performance management process that must be supported by the City’s HCM- Workday (directly or indirectly)
• Develop training plans and materials and execute across the organization.
• Implement the first phase of the performance program by early 2024.
This project is a key element in the development of our retention strategy and will be integrated with current and future OD initiatives. The future of work will depend on OD to support the most valuable asset the city has – its people.
Requirements:
You will have:
• Undergraduate degree in Organizational Development, Adult Education, Human Resources Business/Human Resources, or related field
• Certifications and applied practice in one or more of the following: change management, project management, facilitation, coaching, talent management or leadership development
• Demonstrated knowledge of human resources theory, best practices, and legislation as well as experience in organizational development and change management theory and practice.
• Demonstrated a keen understanding of adult learning and behavioral science principles including identifying measurements for talent & learning outcomes.
• Strong strategic thinking skills and be a demonstrated collaborative influencer with strong consultative and excellent stakeholder management and listening skills.
• Experience working with leaders at all levels of an organization, including an understanding of executive teams.
• Previous experience using Workday, including utilizing functionality to build a performance management program an asset.
Salary Range: $92,766-$115,958 (Grade 11 - Under Review)
