As the first point of contact for People & Talent, you’ll help support our most important resource: our people. This key role will directly impact the employee experience every day through providing expert, connected support to all Town employees. You will focus on gaining a deep understanding of new hire onboarding, lead HR software and systems, contribute to numerous P&T initiatives and programs and provide administrative support for the day-to-day operations within People & Talent.
Working in a cross-functional and forward-thinking environment, you will be responsible for:
- Screening incoming correspondence and inquiries from employees and the public and providing timely and courteous response in collaboration with the People & Talent team.
- Administering the benefit and pension programs including executing all group benefits and pension plan enrollments, member changes, and offboarding.
- Facilitating the probation evaluation process and tracking.
- Processing merit, annual and other compensation adjustments.
- Creating and updating learning content through content creation software on the Learning Management System (LMS); training department leads on how to input and track training through the LMS, point person on launching e-learning course content for new employees during onboarding.
- Configuring, maintaining, and improving HR technology processes; partnering with IT to collaborate on integrations between HR systems and other vendor applications.
The preferred candidate holds:
- University degree in Human Resources or related field and post-secondary diploma in Human Resources.
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in a Human Resources environment with administrative experience in a broad range of HR functional activities. Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or higher-level designation required.
- Valid Class "G" driver's licence in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
- Availability to accommodate deadlines and attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
