Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Labour Relations, the Specialist, Intake Administrator & Labour Relations, coordinates and conducts employment related investigations, provides advice based upon expertise in Human Rights, respectful workplace and workplace violence prevention issues; supports labour relations functions within the Division.
Qualifications/Experience:
- University degree in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration or related areas.
- Five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive labour relations experience with a focus on conducting employment-related investigations.
- Designation as a Certified Human Resources Professional of Leader (CHRP/CHRL) is preferred. Completion of specialized training in mediation and investigations is an asset.
- Excellent communication, interviewing, investigation and negotiation skills, with the ability to communicate and explain complex situations. Superior writing skills. Excellent research skills.
- Advanced interpersonal, human relations, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise significant discretion and sensitivity, and to use consultative and relationship building skills with diverse client groups.
- Strong organizational skills including but not limited to planning, prioritizing, time management and the ability to multi-task.
- Experience working in a multi-union environment and demonstrated extensive knowledge of union procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of relevant employment legislation, and ability to address and apply legislation in policy and practice.
- Ability to understand the importance of service delivery; contribute to the implementation of initiatives that support the employees and managers in a timely and effective way.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
Compensation/Other Information:
$96,723 to $126,632
