HUMAN RESOURCES COORDINATOR (14 MONTH CONTRACT)

 

Qualifications:

To be considered, applicants must possess the following qualifications:

  • University degree or College diploma with specialization in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Knowledge of current legislation affecting Human Resources, i.e. Employment Standards Act, WSIB, Occupational Health & Safety, Human Rights Code, etc.
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources preferred
  • Proven organizational skills demonstrating effective time management, accuracy and adaptability
  • High degree of integrity and discretion due to exposure of confidential and/or sensitive information
  • Excellent computer skills, with experience in MS Office and HRIS software
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to deal with multiple deadlines, frequent interruptions and changing priorities
  • Valid driver’s license with the use of a reliable vehicle required for City business
  • Workplace Investigations and Labour Relations Certificates from an accredited association, organization and/or institution an asset
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a unionized environment, including demonstrated experience in the organization, preparation, implementation and delivery of employee and labour related programs for the workplace

Duties:

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator acts as a contact and resource for Human Resources and Health & Safety functions to ensure timely and consistent service is provided to employees, Management and the public.  Provides advice and assistance to employees regarding all aspects of employment conditions, terms of service, pay, benefits and responds to public inquiries as they relate to employment opportunities within the Municipal structure.  Additionally, this position supports the Supervisory Group with performance management,  incident/injury reporting and labour relations (CUPE, Fire and non-union groups).

Compensation $62, 917-$74, 008 (under review).
